Juneteenth is celebrated with dance, parade and having feasts.


Some traditional foods are, Bar-be-Que, chicken wings, collard greens, all types of desserts such as red velvet cake. Drinks usually consist of Red Soda.


The custom of red drinks and food at Juneteenth is a symbol of ingenuity and resilience in bondage. Some have also linked the symbolism to the bloodshed throughout the institution of slavery.
