Farewell to Stanley Rideout...

Stanley passed away on Tuesday,

January 22nd.

Stan, as he was known by most, spent 45 years as Executive Director of the Sewickley Community Center. In 1966, as then director of the Sewickley Community Center, he spearheaded Come On Home with a small group of Black Sewickley citizens and for 43 years former Sewickley residents would return to town the first weekend in August for a boat ride, a dance at the Legion Post 450, golf, a picnic, Sunday softball games and to see family and old friends.

Pictured below: Stan Rideout, 87 with his wife Vina (known by most as Vike) at Post 450 on January 29, 2012, where he was one of three honorees at the Legion, for the Come On Home program.  Vike, who passed in 2014, was also a great supporter of the Center and could often be found on the Center’s tennis court.
